Determining the Length of Auger Needed

Formula for calculating the length of auger required to fill a bin:

STEP #1: Determine distance (H) from ground to eave of bin.

STEP #2: Add distance from Step #1 to 1/2 of bin diameter (D).

STEP #3: Multiply total figure from step 2 by 1.4.

STEP #4: The figure determined in Step 3 is the exact length of auger needed. Use the next longer length of Westfield Auger

Determining the Flight Speed Needed
Gas Motor RPM=3,000    Electric Motor RPM=1,750
TOTAL FORMULA
(Top Sprocket/Bottom Sprocket) x (Motor Pulley/Auger Pulley) x Motor RPM = Flight Speed
 
How to Calculate Ground Length Measurement
Square the auger length (K) and the auger height (C). Subtract from the squared length (K). The ground length (L) is the square root of this number.
