Maschio Veloce
Veloce is a light disc harrow for shallow seedbed preparation (up to 3,94 in). Discs are arranged on 2 rows with opposing disc direction; wide spacing (24,4 in) between rows prevents any soil and crop residue clogging. Every disc has its own independent hub with super-sealed long-life bearings lubricated in oil bath; maintenance time is kept to a minimum. Elements are linked to the frame by a silent block system with 4 rubber dampeners which absorb all vertical stresses and require no recurring greasing as alternative systems do.
Standard Equipment
- 3 point hitch CAT II or III N ISO
- Rear roller mechanical adjustment
- 2 ranks of Ø 510 mm independent toothed discs silent block dampened
- Upon request, lower toothed discs Ø 510 mm instead of toothed discs (without price surcharge)
- Lightning kit standard for 300, 350, 400 versions
Maintenance free Silent Block System
Four rubber SILENT BLOCKS are interposed between the frame and the discs. This system connection does not require any maintenance and protects the unit from stone damages.
VELOCE FRAME
SQUARE GUARD
A new solution has been developed to improve lateral refining in tillage work: a square guard in place of the classic disc. It is easy to set and ensures complete retention even when large amounts of residue are involved. If the right settings are made before commencing work, no line or furrow will be seen between one pass and the next.
DISC DESIGN AND SETTING
VELOCE disc harrow is equipped by concave, toothed and large blade discs (20 in). The perfect disc overlapping permits a uniform soil turnover on all working width.
LIGHT DISC HARROW APPLICABLE ON TILLED OR NO TILLED SOILS
VELOCE is designed to accomplish several actions in the field:
- Residue sizing – Aggressive notched blades slice through crop residue to effectively size it for rapid decomposition.
- Residue blending – The high-speed rotation of the discs turns the soil while chopping residue. This results in an ideal mixture of tilled soil with properly sized residue.
- Oxygen introduction/warming – As the soil and residue are mixed, oxygen enters the tilled zone and in cooler soils the action also warms the seed zone for rapid crop rooting and emergence.
- Activation of soil bacteria – Machinery doesn’t break down crop residue as the soil bacteria does. When soil is warmed and oxygen is introduced, soil bacteria becomes active and feeds on crop residue. During this process, the residue decomposes and the nutrients become available for new plantings.
- Finishing – Consolidating the soil/residue mix helps bacteria break down residue better. The consolidated surface also produces an ideal seedbed, prevents erosion and creates a capillary effect to preserve moisture.
Rollers – Select (1) To Complete Unit
Cage Rollers
Ideal for dry ground, providing good refining and surface levelling. The ø 600 mm diameter is ideal for reducing excessive clods. The limited weight reduces the rear overhang for better hook-up with lightweight tractors.
Packer Ring Rollers
The Maschio Gaspardo Packer Roller is a semi-mounted, Cambridge-type roller designed for effective soil consolidation and leveling. It features independent cast-iron rings with a toothed profile that allow it to follow ground contours efficiently. The roller is hydraulically operated for easy transport and adjustment, and it’s available in working widths of up to 6.2 meters—requiring a tractor with a minimum of 54 HP.
Ideal Soil Conditions
This roller is especially suited for:
• Heavy and damp soils – commonly used in autumn tillage when moisture is present
• Clod breaking and compaction – preparing a firm and level seedbed
• Use with seed drills – enhancing seed-to-soil contact and promoting uniform germination
Key Benefits
• Breaks up soil clods to refine the seedbed
• Improves compaction for better moisture retention and seed contact
• Adjustable hydraulics for ease of use and transport
• Versatile performance across various soil types
Packer Rollers
Ideal for dry and even heavy ground; the Packer roller helps develop an optimal seed bed by obtaining a compact surface stratum. After the pass, the soil retains moisture to promote rapid germination of the crop.
Ring Roller & U Roller
These roller models offer maximum in-use versatility, especially on wet land that has to be levelled and consolidated without excessive compaction. Compact bands alternating with unworked bands are created on the ground that encourage the exchange of air and water while avoiding the formation of surface crusts or stagnant water.
