Standard Duty Drivers – Ideal For The Small Property Owner With Limited Fence Posts To Drive
Our standard duty model HPD-16 incorporates many of the innovations first brought to the market by Worksaver: “convertible” hydraulic valve, grease zerks at all major pivot locations, plated manual cranks, plastic slide blocks, adjustable legs, bubble level, and SplitCap™. The HPD-16 (32,000 lbs. of force) is ideal for the small property owner with limited fence posts to drive.
Q-Series – Designed For Those Who Have Serious Fencing To Do
Our patented Q-series of hydraulic drivers, HPD-22Q (80,000 lbs. of force) and HPD-26Q (110,000 lbs. of force) offer ingenious solutions to routine maintenance to keep the operator building fence. Q-series drivers feature two time savings QuickChange™ system. Worksaver’s SplitCap™ with enhanced cylinder rod design allows the operator to perform routine maintenance on the rod cap seal without removing the cylinder from the driver. Our Q-spring assembly reduces spring change over from hours to minutes. This design offers increased service life when compared to conventional post driver springs. The integrated spring/ spring-anchor design when mounted to the cushion mounts reduces vibration which further provides increased spring service life. Increasing fence-building performance, making the Q-series a game changer.

Manual Adjust Post Drivers
Models with manual adjust quickly deliver an air tight post set for wood or steel posts. Base model offers manual adjustment cranks and bubble level for prefect vertical alignment on flatland or hillsides. Transport lock pin secures unit for travel and storage. Greaseable pivot points provide reliable movement of the driver.
Hydraulic Adjust Post Drivers
Designed and engineered for those who have serious fencing to do. These center mounted units offer all the quality features of the basic manual adjust drivers plus effortless hydraulic driver alignment controlled by two 3″ x 6″ hydraulic cylinders. For increased driving force, the heavy duty HPD-26Q SHC delivers 110,000 lbs. of high-impact force for driving large posts in tough soil conditions. Big-foot stabilizer helps control tractor bounce on these larger units.
Self-Contained Hydraulic Post Drivers
Save time by simplifying driver installation and removal with a self-contained hydraulic post driver. Features include a hydraulic pump, motor and reservoir. No special return line fittings are required. Gear pump is used to move the oil within the self-contained system providing reliable operation. Note: Some skid steer models require the Self-contained post driver – check with your dealer.
Worksaver HPD-16 HSS Post Drivers
The Model HPD-16 HSS has Quick Change Cylinder Caps.
The models HPD-16 HSS, HPD-22Q HSS, and HPD26Q HSS have the driving ram positioning controlled hydraulically. A two spool hydraulic valve controls the front to back and side to side movement for aligning to a vertical ram position. A separate single spool valve controls the raising and lowering of the driving ram.
Due to the location of the oil reservoir fill opening, some skid steer units cannot be used with a post driver unit that must return the oil to the reservoir. (Examples: Caterpillar, Bobcat models 773, 873 G series, and ASV Posi-Track.) These skid steer units require the model HSS/P post drivers (the HSS/P model drivers have a self-contained hydraulic system.
Post Driver Models For Various Skid Steers & Loaders
The model 16, 22Q, and 26Q post drivers vary as to the size post they can drive and the amount of impact force they can strike a post with. A larger size skid steer unit is required in relation to the size of driver used. A general rule is that the skid steer specified operation lift capacity should be at least 1.25 times the weight of the post driver attachment. A post driver is equipped with adjustable legs which should be adjusted to the proper height and have the weight of the driver on them while driving the post. This makes the driver a more stable unit and eliminates shock loads on the skid steer loader.
The skid steer post driver mounts are equipped with a priority flow divider valve. This valve makes 8 GPM available to operated the post driver and all excess oil is returned directly back to the skid steer remote outlet.
Return Oil Lines
Post drivers require that the return oil line be plumbed directly to the oil reservoir tank. This assures that the 8 GPM that is used to operate the post driver is returned with no line restriction that would slow the oil return and lessen the down force of the driving ram. Be sure that the skid steer unit is in good working order, particularly the hydraulic system, prior to using the post driver. Be sure the skid steer hydraulic oil and filter have been serviced according to the skid steer manufacturer’s recommendations. The return oil from the driver’s operating valve must be connected directly to the skid steer units hydraulic tank fill opening – NOT THE THE SKID STEER REMOTE OUTLET. Special return fittings are available for many popular makes of skid steer units. Check with your dealer for an application list.
The hydraulic valve that operates the driving ram is a convertible valve and is shipped ready for OPEN center hydraulic systems. Do not change this valve to a closed center valve. This convertible feature is only required for some farm tractor applications. Post drivers are a tall attachment to your skid steer unit. Always watch for low clearance problems such as low tree limbs, doorways, or low hanging wires.
